Reporting to the Marketing and Investment Officer and forming part of the Development and Planning Division you will be instrumental in guiding the future growth and development for the City which supports positive change and sustainable growth in jobs, investment and prosperity in Ballarat, and the wider region.
The Investment Officer will provide support and advice on economic development investment facilitation, sales and marketing while harnessing Council, Government, business and community resources to proactively promote the benefits of the City of Ballarat to potential investors. You will confidently engage with, pitch to and support Australian based and international businesses to relocate into the City of Ballarat with high quality investment facilitation support. Furthermore you will advocate internally and externally in the support of infrastructure improvements, arts and cultural activities and tourism promotions that benefit economic development within the Ballarat region.
To be considered for this amazing opportunity, the City of Ballarat are seeking a dynamic, confident and engaging Officer who can represent and promote the City of Ballarat to Australian and International parties and assist them in relocating to the City of Ballarat. You will demonstrate a nous for sales, marketing and promotional methods to sell the story. Relevant qualifications with several years of related experience in property markets, land use planning processes or another appropriate discipline, or lesser formal qualifications with extensive relevant experience such as economic development, property or real-estate will be expected. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence, negotiate and promote coupled with the ability to undertake the ‘administration’ function: submissions, reports and business plans.
