Today, the MAV is a driving and influential force behind a strong and strategically positioned local government sector. Their role is to represent and advocate the interests of local government, raise the sector's profile, and provide policy and strategic advice, capacity building programs and insurance and procurement services to local government. The MAV’s motto is 'pro bono publico' – for the public good.
The MAV is undergoing significant transformation to ensure it delivers the best membership services to the local government sector. The successful candidate has an important opportunity to shape and influence the sector in this crucial new role.
