In this voluntary position, you will lead the highly capable Board in providing strategic direction and governance oversight so the organisation can achieve its mission.
The Chair will help unlock opportunities, via their networks, for new funding and business development to support sustainable growth and increase impact. This includes building relationships with key stakeholders and potential partners among all levels of government and within the carbon, sustainability and energy sectors.
With a focus on maintaining open and ongoing communications, the Chair will lead conversations between YEF and City of Yarra and support the YEF CEO to nurture the relationships with Council’s CEO, elected members and senior management.
The Chair will have previous Board experience, ideally at the Chair or Deputy Chair level. They will also have an understanding of the Community of Yarra, or similar communities, and a working knowledge of the risk and opportunities within the energy and sustainability sector.
They will bring a working experience of organisational governance, a commercial acumen and have a track record of engaging complex, multi-disciplinary stakeholder groups to deliver strategic outcomes.
