The Victorian Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (DJPR) is focused on ensuring Victoria’s strong economic performance by growing industries and regions. The Rural and Regional Victoria (RRV) Group plays a significant role in this, working across government, with local communities and industry to build a stronger economy and better future for rural and regional Victoria.

Reporting to the Head of Rural and Regional Policy and Strategy, you will be responsible for driving RRV policy reform and whole of government coordination, building coalitions and presence within the Victoria Government, including inter-departmental committees and working groups. Together with your team, you will make a significant impact on RRV by contributing to the Group’s policy and strategy leadership and providing advice to senior internal and external stakeholders. This role will see you play a key part in the development and implementation of policies and cross-portfolio initiatives in the regions to complex and sensitive matters that will have a significant impact and implications on government.

As a highly regarded policy professional and collaborative leader, you will have developed your career across the public sector and possess exceptional public policy knowledge and experience contributing to policy formulation and implementation in the public sector.  As a policy expert you will also be able to demonstrate strong project management experience delivering public sector projects, including planning and contributing to the implementation of large scale, whole of government projects in complex environments. Tertiary qualified together with your experience leading a team of policy specialists will be highly regarded and ensure your success.
