The City of Darebin’s success is dependent on inspirational and contemporary leadership and a rare opportunity now exists to join their highly respected collaborative Executive Team as the General Manager Community. Charged with developing strategies and leading Council’s programs and advocacy around inclusion and diversity, community services, community development, libraries, recreation, creative culture and the arts, the GM Community will ensure Council delivers social, economic, cultural and environmental benefits for the Darebin community.
To be successful in this role, Darebin are seeking a contemporary, politically astute, inspirational leader who is collaborative in their approach. You will demonstrate a proven track record leading, developing and engaging large multi-disciplinary teams and experience managing community services in a large complex environment. You will be passionate about social change and committed to working towards equality, improving social inclusion and increasing community wellbeing through strategic nous and sound project management principles.
