Job Description

The Queensland Government is committed to empowering more people to enjoy physical activity to improve their health and well-being. With a goal of activating Queensland, they are looking to inspire people to take advantage of the dedicated spaces and places across the state. These programs cover all levels of sporting achievement from the beginner through to the elite levels who are representing Queensland across the globe. As part of this ongoing commitment, the Queensland Government is seeking to appoint the following Board roles.
The QAS Board is an advisory committee set up to develop and nurture high performance sport in Queensland and the overall strategic direction of the QAS.  The Board will provide advice to the Minister on policy matters which relate to sports to be admitted, programs offered, and the prioritisation of allocation of funds and the staffing structure of the QAS.  Other areas that fall under the Board’s operational remit are submitting a 3-5 year strategic plan, the endorsement of criteria for the selection of athletes, developing strategies to attract non-government funding, formation of sub-committees where required, as well as the review and evaluation of the QAS and the monitoring of risk management strategies.
You will be an experienced Board member who is looking to utilise your existing portfolio to help the QAS as it undergoes change in the lead up to Tokyo 2020 and beyond.
