Job Description

The Housing and Homelessness Services Division of the Queensland Department of Housing and Public Works provides a range of housing and homelessness assistance to Queenslanders most in need and unable to find a housing solution including Indigenous housing, social and private housing assistance, temporary accommodation, homelessness support services and crisis accommodation.

As the primary funder, service provider and asset operator of Queensland’s social housing portfolio the Division is responsible for 72,000 dwellings, of which 84 per cent are owned and the balance managed by the community and not-for-profit sector.

As a key member of the Executive Leadership team, the General Manager, Service Delivery is responsible for the strategic management and delivery of a range of housing and homelessness services and leading the modernisation of the system through innovative service design. The GM has strategic oversight for the frontline delivery of housing assistance and support services, currently delivered through five service delivery regions across Queensland.
A primary responsibility is oversight of the operational partnerships and contracts with housing assistance partners.  A key focus is to shape Housing Service Centre capability while managing consistency in core process and service delivery. The GM will lead the review and modernisation of existing contracts, and will establish frameworks to support the ongoing management and performance monitoring of registered service providers against agreed performance measures.
The ideal candidate will have a record of success as a leader in a large and complex organisation with outstanding leadership ability. You will have extensive experience across the public, private and/or not-for-profit sector and you will have a proven background in strategy and policy implementation, service delivery, and client service. You will have a reputation for being a successful leader of change fostering a confident and capable workforce.
