Reporting to the General Manager Community and City Services, the Director Recreation and Waterways is an important role for the City of Melbourne. We are seeking an experienced leader to create an environment that enables the Recreation and Waterways branch to align as one team and deliver outstanding experiences for their customers and key stakeholders. Furthermore, the Director will provide strategic and operational guidance and advice to Council, the Executive Leadership Team and staff regarding policy, planning and project development relating to recreation and waterways infrastructure, projects and services.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate executive experience in a related industry, including experience in community services and/or leisure and recreation. You are recognised for your contemporary thinking, commercial acumen, political nous and ability to form and maintain credible relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally. You are an exceptional people leader who is well regarded for building dynamic, inclusive and collaborative teams with a focus on achievement and delivery. Furthermore, you are used to working in a fast paced environment and can balance both innovative strategy and policy development with operational effectiveness.
