Reporting to the General Manager City Economy and Activation, you will provide leadership and direction across multiple business functions to deliver Creative City initiatives and services aligned with Council’s vision and objectives. Overseeing a large workforce, you will develop an operational branch plan that staff connect to and that drives a high performance culture. You will play a key ambassadorial role for the Creative community whilst leading, managing and developing the Creative City branch. Your portfolio will encompass Arts Melbourne, the Melbourne Library Service, creative strategy, policy and planning and you will also have accountability for leading and delivering the breadth of Creative City programs, services and facilities.
To be successful in this role you will need to have a strong understanding of the Creative sector and possess strong relationships with the diverse range of stakeholders within the sector. You will be a visionary leader that has a proven track record of developing a high performance culture within the teams you have led and growing capability and capacity of your staff. You are passionate about the Creative sector and have a strong appreciation for the dynamics of working with a local government organisation and have the ability to work strategically whilst ensuring operational imperatives are achieved.
