Reporting to the General Manager City Economy and Activation, you will lead the branch responsible for supporting economic development in the City of Melbourne. Your role will include influencing industry attraction and growth and working with priority sectors (including retail) to understand the impact of trends and consumer behaviour. The core focus of your role will be to strengthen the competitive positioning for the city both locally and nationally. You will engage with a diverse group of stakeholders and build networks with decision makers to encourage business development and employment opportunities in the City of Melbourne.

To be successful in this role you have extensive experience in economic development and working with senior executive stakeholders to bring new businesses and industries into the city. You are a future focused individual and are able to use trends to inform strategy whilst also working with people to foresee and overcome impeding challenges. You thrive in a dynamic environment, have experience in leading teams of dedicated professionals and enjoy building a culture of new thinking and innovation during growth periods.
