This critical leadership role, reporting directly to the CEO, has become available at the City of Melbourne: GM Strategy, Planning & Climate Change. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, this role has a dual focus; whole of organisational leadership and setting a clear direction for the division to continue delivering on Council’s strategic priorities. This role provides leadership to six branches – City Strategy, Planning and Building, Climate Change Action, Aboriginal Melbourne and Resilient Melbourne.
We are seeking an experienced leader that that has the strategic foresight to shape the future direction of our city through evidence based policies and strategies. This role will enhance and extend relationships with the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments, Traditional Owners and create opportunities to partner through industry and private sector to deliver outcomes for the community.
To be successful in this role, you have proven executive experience in the development of key strategies and policies. Thinking globally and acting locally, you are recognised for your contemporary and creative thinking, political nous and ability to form and maintain credible relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally. You are an exceptional people leader who is well regarded for building dynamic, inclusive and collaborative teams with an absolute focus on achievement and delivery.
