Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) is an independent statutory authority under the Environment Protection Act 2017. EPA is responsible for the governance, strategic planning and pursuit of the Authority's objective, namely, to protect human health and the environment by reducing the harmful effects of pollution and waste. EPA's vision is "A healthy environment that supports a liveable and prosperous Victoria now and always". The organisation strives to create a healthy environment that supports this vision through five strategic priorities: Preventing harm; Equipping community and business; Be an influential authority; Respond to harm; & Organisational excellence.
Working closely with a skilled and committed Chairperson and Board, you will help them realise EPA's vision and engage them through strong and transparent metrics and insights. Leading a workforce of 750+ staff, you will continue to ensure the organisation is accountable, supported and engaged to achieve its remit, including the transition to its new legislation on July 1 this year. You will actively engage with all stakeholders across Government, community and industry to ensure everyone is supported to deliver on the vision of EPA.
As a proven CEO, you are well known for your capacity to engage, empower and build accountable teams. You understand the complexities of the public sector from your experience in any range of environments, potentially including statutory authorities, regulators, local government or consulting. You have proven experience in engaging with industry and bring credibility when working with a diverse range of stakeholders, including the media. A highly resilient leader you have the capacity for complex problem solving and you are passionate about the important role EPA plays in supporting all Victorians.
