Job Description

About the Company

Harcourts International has been a trusted brand in Real Estate for over 125 years. As an organisation with people at the centre of their philosophy and "creating success" at the core of their vision, they are known for delivering exceptional service to their clients and their franchisees. They are currently seeking to appoint a Financial Controller for Harcourts Australia. This type of role doesn't come along often. If you are a commercially minded business partner who can truly support, advise and drive the success of an organisation, then this role is for you.

About the Role

As the full custodian of the Australian Accounting function, you will lead the end-to-end financial management from transactional accounting and month-end, through to strategic financial planning and analysis. With a focus on stakeholder engagement and leadership, a key part of this role is to support the Australian operations team with budgeting, forecasting, KPI's, quarterly business planning and projects, as well as continuously identifying opportunities to improve processes, reporting and accountability

This role will report into the Group CFO and will be an integral business partner to the Australian CEO to assist with delivering growth plans for our business and the broader franchise network. As Australian Financial Controller, you will be responsible for presenting to a number of Boards and engaging with various Joint Venture partners, auditors and franchisees on a regular basis.

About You

Ideally, you will have held a similar role in a large complex organisation with the demonstrated ability to get hands-on in the numbers, as well as elevate to engage with high-level stakeholders. You will have a solid grounding in technical accounting (CA or CPA) and the aptitude to broaden into the commercial business partnering arena. You will be a strong leader, who can not only support the development of your team (5), but also build relationships with key stakeholders at all levels in the business.
