Reporting to the CEO, the General Manager City Assets and Environment will form an integral member of the executive leadership team. With a focus on optimizing community wellbeing, the GM will be responsible for promoting the sustainable management of Kingston's natural and built environments as well as maintaining and developing Councils assets, projects and programs through sound delivery processes. Furthermore, the GM will build trusted relationships and provide strategic advice to the Councillors and CEO.

The GM will have responsibility for five direct reports and a large complex portfolio including Infrastructure, Waste; Parks, Recreation and Depot Services; Property and Arts; Traffic and Transport; Active Kingston. Furthermore the GM will be involved in some exciting projects including increasing the green canopy across the city, enhancing open spaces and planning for a new, state of the art leisure/aquatic facility.

To be considered, you will be a proven leader who has managed a large complex portfolio, ideally within Local Government or the broader public or community sector and you demonstrate strong community values. You are politically astute and demonstrate exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with a proven ability to engage with your community and your Board / Councillors. You are highly regarded for your inspirational staff leadership and ability to drive continuous improvement through contemporary technology, systems and processes.
