Job Description

Established in 1973, NIOA has grown to become Australia's largest privately-owned supplier of arms and ammunition to the sporting, law enforcement and military markets.

Representing in excess of 50 international partners, NIOA is a strong and reliable Australian portal to some of the world's biggest and most innovative defence companies.

2020 is bringing a number of critical programs of work to the NIOA Group. For this, we are seeking an In-House Lawyer to assign to the Program. Reporting to the In-House Counsel & Company Secretary, and working closely with the broader team, this critical role will focus on:

Drafting, providing advice and reviewing strategic contracting documentation such as consortium arrangements, sub-contractor arrangements, pre-bid agreements and memoranda of understanding and other related documentation;

  • Review conditions of tender, interface agreements, tender submissions and related documentation;
  • Draft, provide advice on and review head contracts, subcontracts including back to back subcontracts and other standard template precedents in the AUSDEFCON suite.
  • Draft, provide advice on and review confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements

To be successful in this role you will have 3-5 years PQE with the confidence and ability to work autonomously in a large project and contract environment. Ideally, you will have experience within the Defence world and be familiar with the AUSDEFCON suite of templates. If not, a depth of experience providing legal advice on large, business-critical contracts and tender- related matters is essential.

To apply, click the link and upload your current resume in Microsoft Word format only (.doc or .docx). If you would like to have a confidential discussion, please contact Deanna Keating on 07 3023 1023, quoting ref no. JO-2004-100143. Want to know more about Davidson? Visit us at
