The City of Glen Eira is located in Melbourne's south-east suburbs, approximately 10 kilometres from Melbourne's central business district. The City includes the suburbs of Bentleigh, Bentleigh East, Carnegie, Caulfield, Caulfield East, Caulfield North, Caulfield South, Elsternwick, Gardenvale, Glen Huntly, McKinnon, Murrumbeena, Ormond and part of the suburbs of Brighton East and St Kilda East.
The Aged Care and Independent Living Department is situated within the Community Wellbeing Directorate of Council. The aim of the Aged Care and Independent Living Department is to ensure optimum quality of care to clients in accordance with organisational policy and standards and guidelines set by the Commonwealth and State Governments.
Reporting to the Director of Community Wellbeing, this position will be responsible for the leading the Council's Aged Care and Independent Living Department. This role will contribute and implement strategic goals of the Council at both a Corporate and Divisional level; effectively driving change and service improvement programs responding to the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety.
In this strategic role, you will lead a large, multi-disciplined team to achieve the highest level of service and well-being of the elderly in receipt of the services and ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures and practices. You will also effectively develop necessary policies, procedures, standards and guidelines to ensure the delivery of services are cost effective, reliable and of a consistently high quality.
As a proven leader within the Aged Care industry, you are known for delivering a consistently high quality of service to the elderly community, in a multi-site environment. With a strong understanding of governance frameworks, you successfully mitigate risks, and embed a continuous improvement culture. With a contemporary and dynamic leadership style, you have an ability to align your team to the broader strategy, while uplifting overall capability and creating strong internal succession. Exceptional communication skills, with an ability to write accurate and succinct reports and translate complex reform into recommendations and operational delivery is essential for success in this role.
