Reporting to the General Manager Community, and working closely with the CEO, Executive, the Mayor and Councillors this position will lead the city's economic reactivation and economic recovery following the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. By designing and delivering short and long term strategies, goals and initiatives, the Manager (and their highly skilled team) will respond to the immediate impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic while ensuring the City's economy is resilient towards future challenges and is shaped into a sustainable city for the future.
Providing strategic direction and inspirational leadership, the Manager will effectively engage across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and focus on innovative ways to address the changing requirements of the Darebin community and realise Council's vision for Darebin to be a thriving and sustainable local economy.
To be successful in this critical role, the City of Darebin is seeking a highly motivated and experienced strategic leader who is politically astute, responsive and innovative. You are renowned for your excellent communication and ability to build relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders that yield excellent outcomes for the Darebin council and community. You demonstrate sound project management methodologies and inspirational leadership with an innate ability to drive high performance. Experience working in a senior leadership role within local government or the broader public and community sectors will be held in high regard.
