Moonee Valley City Council is currently seeking a dynamic, people focused leader to lead the delivery of Council's engineering functions and the uplift of capital works projects and programs. Reporting to the Director Service Delivery, the Manager Engineering Services will play a key leadership role in providing definitive, timely, and quality advice on all matters relating to:
- The provision of a safe and accessible local road, parking and drainage network across the municipality;
- Ensuring that effective civil engineering practices and standards are applied to the management of Council's infrastructure and new development proposals; and
- Effective project management delivery of capital works projects and programs.
In this position, you will be responsible for the creation and implementation of clear operational measures and continuous improvement targets in the areas of Traffic and Transport, Development Engineering, and Engineering Design and Drainage. Forming part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will effectively lead and manage the Engineering Services Department and will develop and grow a positive and productive community-centric workplace culture.
To ensure success in this role, you will have demonstrated experience in managing, monitoring and uplifting a portfolio of capital works and programs, combined with exceptional technical skills relevant to the Engineering Services portfolio. You will demonstrate proven leadership ability and are renowned for enhancing culture, performance, transformation and collaboration. You will possess strong political acumen, judgement, negotiation and decision-making skills with the ability to effectively motivate others in achieving positive outcomes for the community. With an engaging interpersonal style, and an ability to build strong rapport, you are committed to enhancing internal and external relationships, and providing accurate direction and advice to Executive teams.
