Reporting to the Director Community Wellbeing, the Manager Strategic Projects will be responsible for ensuring the organization delivers on strategic and coordinated planning objectives, across a number of key Council functions. As a pivotal member of the Corporate Leadership Group (CLT), this role will conduct holistic strategic reviews across projects and services planning; providing insights, recommendations and aligning strategic objectives in response to reforms and changing community priorities. This role will introduce innovative service delivery models, and work in partnership with the Directorate on Council's long-term community service and infrastructure planning, including integrated community infrastructure planning; major service reviews in response to state and national reforms (3 year old kinder reform and Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety); and other emerging strategic projects (Grants, Library services reviews etc.).
Key to your success in this positon is the community services, strategic infrastructure planning and/or project management experience you have gained, ideally in Local Government or an aligned public sector environment. Experience across community services is essential, including expertise in developing Community Infrastructure Plans. Such experience would be integral in supporting community services teams to achieve good service planning. You will leverage your strong communication and interpersonal skills to create and develop your own high performing team, and have the ability to shape team culture. As a leader you will be able to influence and build strong relationships across the organisation and take people along the journey with you. Demonstrated experience in investment logic mapping would also be preferable for this role. With relevant tertiary qualifications and proven experience, you will be a key player in ensuring Whittlesea delivers on its long term Whittlesea 2040 Strategy commitments.
