We are seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manger to lead a team of nurses and allied health professionals in providing health and related services at the recently opened state-of-the-art correctional centre operated by Serco Australia near Grafton Northern NSW. The centre operates 3 medical centres with a combined bed facility of 1700. This role will be responsible for one of the facilities.
The Role
Reporting to the Health Services Manager you will be responsible for leading a team of nurses and visiting allied health specialists in coordinating care through the delivery of a range of clinical and related health services. Key responsibilities include:
- managing resources and staffing levels and performance
- developing, implementing clinical governance and safety standards, policies and procedures
- deliver regular reports on the operations of the health facility
- ensure accreditation requirements are maintained
- collaborate with other unit managers and staff
About You
With a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and a post graduate qualification in a clinical specialty, business or management or working towards one, you will have experience as a Nurse Unit Manager or supervisory role leading a multidisciplinary team of health professionals.
You will possess an advanced knowledge and expertise in nursing with effective communication and collaboration skills. Also required is a sound understanding of the professional, ethical and legal requirements of the registered nurse.
