Regional Surface Transport
The Department of Transport brings together all transport modes to design, plan, build, and operate Victoria's transport system. Our job is to further integrate the transport network and improve the delivery of services to Victorians for simpler, quicker and safer journeys that connect people and places and support Victoria's prosperity and liveability.
Regional Surface Transport manages the surface transport network across its five regions: Eastern Victoria, North Eastern Victoria, Northern Victoria, South Western Victoria & Western Victoria. For many country Victorians, their way of life, health, and livelihood relies on roads and transport options that work. Safer and better transport networks will support regional communities' growth and prosperity, now and into the future.
Regional Surface Transport is focused both on engaging with regional communities and industries so we can better understand and prioritise their needs, and turning their concerns into actions and delivery of transport-related projects. Regional Surface Transport works with Victorian communities and stakeholders every step of the way, to plan, maintain and advocate for the regional surface transport network.
